What are Integrals?

In 17th century Newton and Leibniz discovered the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus,
which demonstrates a connection between integration and differentiation and also become the foundation for the modern Calculus.

The modern notation of indefinite integral was introduced by Gottfried Leibniz in 1675 and
modern notation of definite integral was first used by Joseph Fourier in 1820.
